December Holidays in Special Ed

Holiday Rotations

We love celebrating every holiday that our students celebrate in our classroom. Representation matters!

At the beginning of the year, we send out a little survey to find out the holidays that our students celebrate. This way we can ensure that every holiday is student centered and gets ‘equal air time’. If certain holidays that are mainstream aren’t celebrated, then we don’t have it in our classroom. If any of our students celebrate Christmas- we make sure to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas- not just the mainstream media version of it!

On the last day before the winter break, we like to do a variety of rotation stations to keep things fun and festive! Below are some of the festive centers we like to work through with our class.

These are just SOME ideas to do! There are many, many more that can be used! If your students love dance videos, a quick google search will give you a ton of options.

If you need a resource to get you through this month, I’ve got a December holiday bundle that will cost you under $5.00!
