Description

This is a final summative/project geared towards a Grade 6/7 Ontario health class (substance use and abuse) . These reading and final project can easily be adapted to any class from grades 4-8. It is a FULLY editable Google Slides project, with success criteria, rubrics, and templates for a quick “assign and go!” experience.

It can be adapted for special education and ESL learners so that they feel they are doing the same project, but it is geared towards their specific needs and levels!

Student Reading Material:

A grade-appropriate reading passage on substance use and abuse, covering key concepts such as types of substances, health implications, and societal impact.

Discussion Questions:
Thought-provoking questions to facilitate class discussions on the reading material, encouraging students to express their thoughts and opinions in a respectful and inclusive environment.

Project Guidelines:

Clear and detailed guidelines for the final project, promoting creativity and critical thinking. The project may include activities like creating informative posters, public service announcements, or presentations.

Rubrics for Assessment:
Comprehensive rubrics for both the reading comprehension and final project, designed to assess students’ understanding of the material and their ability to communicate information effectively.
